Wondering what free Facebook means? Free Facebook is also known as Zero Facebook. It allows users to still use the platform even when they run of data.
It is good and easy to use, but users won’t be able to view photos or watch videos on the platform.

You can use Free Facebook or Zero Facebook on your device or desktop or computer. It is simple, and trust me it is free and accessible to all.
If you have never used Facebook before and wish to give it a try, you can use Free Facebook to start. So you don’t feel like you’re wasting your data. To learn more about Free Facebook, read on.
Free Facebook
Free Facebook, also know as Zero Facebook is an initiative undertaken by Social networking service Facebook.
This is done in collaboration with phone-based internet providers. The internet provider waives data charges for accessing the platform on phones.
However, this is done via a stripped-down text-only version of its mobile website. This version is only available online only through providers who have entered the agreement with the social media giant, Facebook.
Using Free Facebook, by default, photos are not loaded. The users may still choose to view the photos they come across by clicking through, but regular bandwidth or data charges apply.
Brief of Free Facebook
According to my search in Wikipedia, plans for the service were first announced at the Mobile World Congress in February 2010 by Chamath Palihapitiya.
Wikipedia also said that “In collaboration with 50 mobile operators around the world, it was officially launched on May 18, 2010.
The Free Facebook scheme is considered zero-rated or the practice of offering free bandwidth for most of the services or features on the platform, then some are filtered out.
It featured a stripped-down version of Facebook that was made available for smartphone users. Free or Zero Facebook was offered in emerging markets to address the issue of data caps.
Also, the platform provided technical assistance to partner carriers so that the whole incurs a lower cost. In most countries, Facebook free is being offered as a part of the carrier’s free basic data plan.
Who Can Use Free Facebook?
Free Facebook or Zero Facebook can be used by anyone on the platform. Being a free service means it is open to any user on the platform who wishes to use it.
However, it is available for just some internet providers, so if the Free Facebook is not accessible to you, it means, your internet provider is not collaborating with Facebook.
It is simple. To users who love to view any photo, they come across on the platform, this could be a deal changer, but it is optional.
Being optional means, you can switch back to your regular Facebook whereby you’re charged for data services.
Can I Connect to Facebook With no Data?
Most mobile apps and sites make use of data when they are not connected to Wi-Fi. Facebook has worked with some mobile carriers or internet providers to discount or completely cover users’ data charges.
That is to say, if you’re using a SIM card from any of the carriers in collaboration with Facebook, you won’t be charged to connect and have conversations on Facebook.
